Any issues with Sherpa graph 1d?

I really love the look of the albino Sherpa graph and this looks like a nice example of a 1d. Small logo, right case back, but can’t read the serial number.

Sherpagraph was notably worn in the 1960s by the F1 and Indy 500 racing car driver Jim Clark. The Enicar. It is a MKID with scallop caseback.

Here is what I see . . .

On the negative side first:

The movement looks appropriate as to vintage, but the slotted or minus-head screws have been molested with the careless use of a screw driver and there are a couple of scratches on the bridge. Neither of these observations suggests anything wrong with the movement other than it has been disassembled at least once by someone who was not fastidious, sloppy perhaps. Top of the photo of the movement shows additional scratches. One of the pushers has shell material missing exposing brass underneath - some metal (left side.) Someone inked a 116 in green when servicing or simply inspecting the watch.

The case back has wear and scratches. Not shocking.

On the positive side:

The S/N looks like 56218 (5 or 6?) which makes it a late mark Id.

Crown is correct.
The dial and tachy ring look to be in good shape. (One tiny blemish on the dial at 22 past the hour)
Hands are correct and in good condition.
Appearance of luminous material on hands and indices suggests that they are original.

Assuming the watch is running reasonably well, it will make a very fine impression on the wrist.

Edit: I see the listing indicates "no longer available."

I guess it was sold outside of Ebay or withdrawn.

one question for my education - I thought all Sherpa Graphs Mk. I's are supposed to be with large Saturn logo with Enicar inscription inside the Saturn. The small Satrurn logo is from Mk. II onwards. That would mean the dial is incorrect, righ? That actually put me off this auction. Thanks for the opinions.

Not long ago, I thought that all Mark Id watches had the small transitional logo (smaller than the Mark III) as well, but we learned from Nico of at least one exception . . . and that is for the Marl Id in gray & white, similar to the Mark Ic gray and white.

Here is the only one I have seen for sale:

Note that it has the correct S/N for a Mark Id and as mentioned, Nico has confirmed he has seen others in similar range.





Note: Contradiction in the listing title, but it is actually a Mark Id.

However, the all white Mark Ids and the Reverse Panda Mark Ids have the smaller transitional logo -as far as we know, subject to new information.

I understand Nico is just about to update his Mark Id page!

What makes it an MK1 is the Ref number, 1308 BaNCH. After that, we got the 072/001 Reference which leads to the MKII "classification". Please keep in mind, the Classification is just a virtual construct by collectors and was never told so by Enicar themself.

yes, that is clear.. my mistake was to use the photo from enicar101.com that showed still the large Saturn logo to next to mk. Id.. all much clearer now..
