I felt It was a while since I aquired something so I just got this on an auction on an impulse. I have no idea what year or anything about this watch. It is in a very good condition and I like the look of it. Maybe it is a Hongkong watch:censored:?
One weird feature is the glass. It it is...
I think with the Corona pandemic we have the oportunity to have a virtual pub. I am thinking Zoom/Teams/Google meets. I think it can be a quite nice way to get together and have a drink/coffe or whatever. Ofcourse it is not totally like a physical meeting, but it is geographically neutral, and...
I also got mine from Italy recently and there was one more on offer at the same time in what appeared to be NOS condition. Maybe someone must have found a stach of unsold ones....
They are really cute and with a lot of attitude... it would be interessting to know how popular they where in the day since there are e.g. the two ones to the right that you have, and the one I got that are virtually unused...
Been there done that😬......I think the bracelet is the best thing on mine...I think of it as part of learning...
Before that I was not aware that fake parts was really an issue with a relatively obscure brand such as Enicar.
My recent find. A rare JDM (Japan domestic market) only Seiko 7017-6050. This is actually a relative to the Enicar Mantagraph. The moment is basically the same hi-beat with fly-back, but without the subdials..
That red ring was a really bad design anyway. I broke mine on my Jetgraph back when I was a kid. I think it got stuck in a sweater when I should put it on over my head.....
In my experience people are not so different. If a person has an interessting watch they most certainly are interested in watches themselves and really apreciate when someone notice. Once you get them going it can be hard to stop them... it is good for the situation if your watch is interessting...
I totally agree with you. I like it since I also have a weak spot for vintage Seikos. Interesstingly this movement was made at the other Seiko site, Daini, set up independently from the Suwa site, where e.g the more well known 6139, 6138 was made. They set up the other to be an internal...
I feel it could be usefull with thread like this after I saw this watch this week. I was at an aerospace congress in Stockholm and happen to engage in a conversation with a (very) old but young at heart airline pilot. I could not help but noticing that he had something interessting on his wrist...
I feel I always have been technology oriented and the japaneese did the same leep past the Europeans in watches, as they did with motorcycles, cars and cameras in the seventies. When it comes to watches I have aquired recently some automatic chronographs From Seiko and Citizen. I think they are...
I have not got more active into the watch collection until this year, but always had a lingering intersst that I got from my dad who had connections with the watchmaker school where I grew up. He was somewhat of a collector but with great moderation, and he had his Omega Speedmaster for most of...
There is an ad where the Jet Graph cost 125USD new, so an exchange rate of about 2.5 seems exactly right. However, what is interessting is that with inflation 1 USD in 1968 corresponds to 7.41USD in 2019. Hence a Jet Graph in todays value would be 926USD which is about what a good mobile phone...
