I think with the Corona pandemic we have the oportunity to have a virtual pub. I am thinking Zoom/Teams/Google meets. I think it can be a quite nice way to get together and have a drink/coffe or whatever. Ofcourse it is not totally like a physical meeting, but it is geographically neutral, and you do not have to spend a lot of time traveling.....
