Hey guys, since ages we have the discussion, what was Jim Clarks real watch, why is every dealer calling their offered Sherpa Graph "Jim Clark" and so on. I did some research the last weeks and finally came to the conclusion, that the one and only real Jim Clark is a grey dial MK1b in the Serial Range 409.xxx.

If you want to read more about that topic and the relation of Jim Clark to Enicar, have a look at Enicar101.com

Feel free to discuss here, I would be happy to do that!

Excellent research!

I think one of the reasons why some dealers call their black dial Graphs "Jim Clark" is in your article. ;)

That postcard shown on the pages from Europa Star 1966:

I think the reason is just cause it sells better ;) it’s like with the „pre-Sherpa-graph“ called „Garnix“ before.

Jim Clark still has a huge following, even these many years after his untimely death. He's well up, and often the top of, many people's best driver of all time lists. On top of being well-regarded as a driver, he was also liked and admired by his peers as well as the public. Heck, if I had a Sherpa Graph, I'd call it a Jim Clark, too!

(Great article, BTW, thanks!)
