Suspect offers through side channels

I just received an offer through a side-conversation for a part I'm looking for. The offer came from someone who signed up yesterday and has no other posting history. Could be legit but, more likely, it's a scammer. Just a heads up that this is not necessarily a safe place. Also, beware of names that are very close to well known listers as this is another common ploy.

Not replied to my PM message but has been online since.
