There's an early Guide Mk1 on ebay:

Reasonable, original condition:

But it has cross-hatched crowns without the Saturn logo:

Now I know very early Mk1 Graphs had a cross-hatched crown without the Saturn logo but that would be earlier than the first Guides if I'm reading my astrology charts correctly. Long way of saying I think the crowns are incorrect. Any more knowledgeable opinions out there?

Hi Jbcollier

I too have a Mk1 guide with dauphine hands and the red crescent 24 hour hand and that has cross-hatched crowns without the Saturn logo. So I think it’s right

Dr Mallory, your photo shows crowns with the Saturn logo.

Dr Jupiter, I have seen 50s Enicars with catalog photos showing crowns never seen in the wild -- at least not by me, and mostly regarding Mini-Dives.

I'm not disagreeing but please show me a photo, or tell me an anecdote, saying it's so and I'll believe.

Well tbh I thought it’s common sense that these were without the Saturn.

I have seen several in this configuration, my first hand mk1 guide is also without.
I had the same discussion about the non logo crowns on the Graph. Still can’t explain why there is no Saturn (maybe production wasn’t ready? Idk) but the evidence is clear here.

Sorry I don’t have harder facts at the moment.

Edit:

this is my 1960 mk1

it’s maybe worth to add, that I also have a mk1 from 1962 with Saturn logo. So probably, like with the Graph, the year of production is important.
