Just agreed purchase of this Sherpa Graph - Your thoughts are most welcome!

After disappointingly having to return a re-dialed Sherpa Jet, I have recently agreed purchase terms on this Sherpa Graph. I note that the glass has a small crack, and the hands appear to lack the orange tips but otherwise, it looks like an original example to me.

I'd really appreciate any thoughts from the connoisseurs.

Just received the watch. The Mk3 is absolutely stunning and has always been a grail purchase for me. On it's way for a movement check.

Such a great story and you’re so welcome to the Sherpa Graph owners little club! 🙏🏻

I do have a MKIII sister watch to yours, also preloved with lot of patina but still unmolested.
The beautiful Enicar bracelet on yours however looks like it fits a 19mm case and not a 20mm, as the Graph have, or do the picturec from the link above fool me?🤔

Here is my MKIII saying hello,

Hello! And thanks for the kind welcome!

The seller, John, was kind enough to include HLB endlinks with the watch, so if it is a 19mm BoR, it doesn't show - zero gap at all.

You have a lovely Mk3. I am curious what the differences between a MK2b like mine and a MK3 are? I note my subdials are matte grey and lack any circular texture. I also appear to lack the orange tips on the hands.

Your welcome! 🤗

OK, thats super with the new end links! 👍
...but HLB endlinks are from a GF bracelets aren't they? Its superior quality compared to the Enicars ones so I think you got a real deal there! 🙏

Oh thank you, but I thought yours was a MK III as well, my bad! 😉

I really l don't know the differences between MK II or M III.
But there where transition models with parts from both MK:s as well so there´s no sharp line between the different models I guess...
The things you mention could be the differences but maybe @JimJupiter or someone else with deeper knowledge of the Graphs could chip in with facts? 😁

I see the concentric circles in your subdials. They look identical minus the orange tips. Yours is most definitely a mk III.

Check out this guide:

Actually this is a better guide. Great site!

I agree, but Nico hasn't finished the MKII part so thats why I'm living in limbo... 😁 🤗
I think both sites are useful but Nico´s is more accurate...🙏

Haha. I guess there could be tiny differences that put it in a different category. Interestingly, the watch gecko article about the above watch mentions that it's a transitional model. I'm not sure what information they're using to say that. Maybe the lack of orange tips? I would say more likely the paint fell off at some point though. But who knows! Either way they're awesome and that's all that matters 👍

I think Enicar wasn´t that accurate when putting the watches together regarding exactly what hands or other details that were interchangeable, they took whats was in the bin at the moment as long as it was model correct!

Sorry guys, I am in holidays and try to stay away offline as best as I can haha (for the wifey of course ;) ). Easiest to differ a mkii from a mkiii is the ref number on caseback. 072/001 is mkii, 072-02-01 is mkiii. If I remember correctly, the discussed watch is a mkiii and someone just invented the Story of a transitional mk II 😁.

i will finish the mkII part this autumn, I promise 🙏

I can confirm that it does have concentric circles on the sub dials when looked at via a loop. On a side note, my AD is livid that I spent new Rolex money on "something 70 years old". I replied with a smile as I can't find the words to say how much I prefer the Sherpa Graph over most modern timepieces. It brings me joy every morning when I look at it. A couple questions for the gurus:

1) I get around 42-45 hours of power reserve from a maximum of 30 full winds of the crown, when the watch is fully depleted. Sound normal?

2) Would be great is someone could share the correct box that this watch came with when new? I'll then try to track one down as I like having the set with all of my collection.
