Beautiful albino IB S.G.

I'd love to see a photo of the case back just to see whether it's in as fine a shape as the rest of the watch.

It is stamped correctly on the inside so, I'd expect a near-perfect case back with an expected serial number.

If I were a buyer. I'd request a photo of the case back along with S/N.

Lovely.

I don't know if you translated the text of the seller's announcement (i'm french so I didn't need to and live at about 50 km from the seller... unfortunately i can't afford to buy it :( )
The seller wrote that the watch is completely genuine (case, case back, crown, hands and bezel) , certified (who did?) and unpolished and that it had been serviced one year ago in London. But he precises that the case back has been partially polished (maybe in order to delete one the previous owners' name according to him) but the serial number can be read easily... this is somehow surprising though.
These are the information given.
Kind regards,
Eric

I cant see a pic with the serial. Could you ask for one, and I check in my database if I find old pics of the watch. Thanks,
Nico

It seems to me that it would be hard to remove an engraving on the case back w/o removing the serial number unless the polishing-out were done in a limited area only with masking of some sort to protect everything else. The S/N is shallower than most or all of the standard engraving.

I would not buy the watch w/o seeing the back, but that's a matter of personal preference which . . . probably amounts to an unofficial collector standard.

As Nico suggests, the seller should post a photo of the case back and he can obscure the last digit or last two digits of the S/N. That would satisfy all but two people on the planet:

The buyer and Nico. ;)

Nico has - and maintains - a private S/N registry.

Cheers,

Joe

Hello,
I asked the seller for a picture as requested. I also suggested he might join us here.
Waiting now for the answer.
Have a good week-end.

The seller (who is a member of the forum) answered to me that he bought his watch from Steeve Harris :)
He will send the serial number to you, Nico.
