This Enicar 173 01 01 mechanical digital watch is the latest addition to my watch collection.
The watch was bought off eBay. I have no idea if it’s rarity but I’m looking forward to the challenge of restoring it to its form glory. I have always liked these quirky mechanical digital “jump hour” watches but I can find very little information about the Enicar 173 010 01. I guess the watch was Enicar’s response to Japanese electronic powered digital watches of the 1970’s but would love to know more about them. An internet search reveals the watch was made in 70’s, has a calibre AS2073 movement and some were gold plated. There is also a photo in Martin’s book but I could find no other information, adverts or manuals relating to these watches. If anyone has any information please could you share?
My plans for this watch are to wear it and when I have completed a few other watch projects and funds permit it will be off to the watchmakers.
Also curious to know what strap the watch would have originally come one
Thanks for any help you can give
