A possible new S/N range for a SG Mark IIb or early SG Mark III?

I thought this to be somewhat interesting:

Do we know who vintagewatchchap is, lol?

Anyhow . . .

The watch is being offered as a transitional Mark III. The watch looks like a Mark IIb, with the shorter tipped cental minutes and hours hands. It has an early crown and unpainted paddle hand tips:

s-l1600-2.jpg

The case back has no date stamp which is expected for a Mark IIb or an early Mark III:

s-l1600-4.jpg

And here is where it gets interesting . . .

The Serial Number - 536029 - is not within the ranges previusly identified by Nico:

So . . .

The S/N does not fit within the range for the other Graphs either. Seems like a legit new find.

Cheers,

Joe

The serial looks like 636 029 to me… 🤔
But if so it doesn’t change much but it still would be a 1964 MK II or….?🤷🏼‍♂️

Vintagewatchchap is Steve ;)

And I vote 836.019 :) as @SteveHarris stated in the watch description

I had a hunch. ;)

Somehow, I missed seeing the S/N in the description until this morning and the 8 still doesn't look like an 8 in the photo, though I have no doubt now that it is an 8..

Mystery solved then.

GLWS, Steve.

Cheers,

Joe
