Radium itself doesn't glow, it's mixed with another chemical that reacts to the radium and glows. That chemical is eventually consumed and the dial stops glowing. The radium-226 remains and it has a half-life of 1600 years so it keeps emitting for thousands of years to come.

Mine is the first I have seen with the newer logo and the first 33 jewelled. I have never seen a Stewardess, mind it doesn't have Stewardess on the dial. I would speculate that these were provided to, or sold through, airlines and not up for general sale.
