I do like the look of a BoR bracelet, so I started wearing my newest old Ia on a modern and secure Uncle Seiko BoR.

But then I wore it for a couple weeks on a very dark gray - almost black - rally strap and it does change the overall look.

Have a look at these two shots taken in natural light, but with a Hirsch "Capitano" strap that I originally bought for my Seiko SARB 017 Alpinist.

I worked in my Dad's art gallery many years ago and I ran the production shop where we did a lot of matting and framing. The mats always brought out colors to the human eye that were there, but not obvious unless one was drawn in deeper.

In this case, the dial is not tan. It is metallic pewter, mostly gray, but with a very tiny hint of brown as is the case with pewter.

Put the watch on a brown strap and see what happens?

Edit: First shot was taken with sunlight coming into my dining room bay window.

The second light was in the kitchen under warm LED light.

It is interesting how, under some lighting conditions, the watch looks pure white whereas under other lighting conditions, the dial takes on a more champagne look.
True, I overexposed the picture here to compensate for the snow. If you leave the camera to its best guess the picture turns out more yellowish
