Hi guys, new to this forum and would like to get your advice on this Sherpa Jet. I really fell in love with the design, but wondering if it is authentic - and what it could be worth?

That watch is already sold. Except for one gouge on the back, it looks to be in great shape. It's a later Jet with the "jumping" minute indices. You can find out more about Jets here:

I like the Jets and find them more aesthetically pleasing than the larger Super Jets. Parts are getting harder to find, and more expensive, now that Enicars have become "it" watches. Crowns that were not-too-hard to find and trading at $50 are now hard/impossible to find and at $200+.

What's it's worth is complicated. Prices fluctuate quite a bit depending on circumstances. Asking prices have shot up but selling prices on ebay seem about the same. This example is quite nice but it's a 36mm case -- which I like but the market punishes -- so on the north side of $2K. User condition would mean south of $2K. And beaters around $1K, maybe even less if there are a lot of incorrect replacement parts.

Thank you @jbcollier. That is very useful. Just one question; why does the market punish 36mm cases?

Today's watch wearers are used to larger sizes. 36mm looks and feels small to them. The Graphs, Guides, Supers, Ultras and OPS range from 40 to 43mm and are more avidly sought after. IMHO, the 36mm versions are often better looking aesthetically and wear very well on a variety of wrists. The extra large bezels of the Super watches look disproportionate to my eye with the dial being made to look too small.

The exception is the Guide for me. The inner bezel stays at the 36mm size and the extra width comes from the useful, and visually interesting, cities bezel and bright red indicator: truly a perfect design.
