Help (expert insight needed) re. Sherpa Guide Mk3 parts

I might have my eyes on a Sherpa Guide Mk3, but two points are bothering me… Hence two questions, please:

- Does anyone know whether these re-made red-anodized pointer rings are still available (?): http://enicarforums.com/index.php?threads/sherpa-guide-pointers-available.689/ (the eBay sale is down). Or can these be re-anodized when they’re totally blank?

- It appears that the GMT hand is just red (i.e., not checkered) - are these hard to find and/or excessively expensive (to the point that one better doesn’t count on finding one)?
