So, what are your thoughts on the best strap for an Sherpa Graph Mk3 with a black/grey dial?

I know, I know, I think I‘m an idiot, too.

Not keen on a BoR bracelet and am leaning towards a simple black Tropic strap.

Something like this but maybe a contrasting stitch, white or even red

Thanks for humouring me. As an old, and retired, Euro car mechanic, and fan of 50s and 60s racing, rally straps are a favourite of mine. I have a both a brown and black rally strap already making their way here. Just wish I was also fitting them to a Mk1; beautiful watch you have there.

Hi JB. I'm a big fan of euro cars myself and have owned a few to many AMGs a Stag and a couple of older BMWs ( currently driving a 2022 GLC63s)
The watch in the photo isn't mine. It's one I found while searching photos to see what straps people like on their sherpas. My Graph has silver subs and I went for a dark brown nubuck strap with off white stitching. Personally I'd like the correct beads of rice but they are hens teeth to find or stupidly expensive.
I think most colour combos look good on this model tbo

I do like BoR bracelets but the clasps are old and do not hold well. Most of mine auto-release at some point during the day when I wear them. The newer bracelets have much more secure clasps but don't quite look the part. Hmm, hard to beat a Nato for security but I don't think I have ever seen a Sherpa Graph with one, curious.

If you want a BoR that looks like NoS but has a modern, safe and well-designed clasp an Uncle - formerly Uncle Seiko will do the job nicely:

But I do switch off from time to time:

Modern BoR for the Id:

The bracelet above is an NTH, but the Uncle is very similar.

Oh cheers, I'll take a look at those.
Re the nato, thats worth a try. I've had one on my submariner now and then and it's great for different look.

I have the Mk Ia Ohrelius watch on the brown leather Hirsch Capitano strap with deployant clasp from RHD

[Deployants from Robert Hollister Davis were excellent quality, but the guy became ill and closed up shop]

Originally I bought the Capitano strap for my Seiko SARB017 Alpinist, but I like the look on the Mark Ia over the BoR which was moved to this JC Mark Ib watch:

Cheers,

Joe

That's a fantastic looking strap. Really these sherpa graphs look great just about any way you wear them depending on whether it's a formal or casual look you're going for. They're right up there with Rolex imo
