Please help authenticate my first Enicar

Hey guys,

Story as old as the world. Was looking for my first Enicar to fix up and looking at Vinted this listing got the better of me even if it did not have the best pictures.

Main thing I am worried about is the dial which just does not look right. Also the caseback seems too overpolished.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks!
Vytenis

The dial seems to have been repainted. The lettering of the "Star Jewels" has wonky spacing, and 17 ought to be printed above it. The "Enicar" badge seems to have been touched up too. I guess someone has restored the dial 😢

Thanks Doctor Bohr! I had the same concerns, also probably hard to tell on the pictures but SWISS MADE does not look sharp (I guess as sharp as it should be). To my untrained eye it has ‘Mumbai special’ written all of it for what it’s worth.

The movement seems to be original and running ok so I think I will just service it and keep it for what it is 🙂

lettering seems done by hand. I’m not convinced it’s an original at all.

Screws on the inside appear to my eye only to have been replaced by older screws.
