Yup, legit. From the period where they were getting desperate and hoped making "cheaper" Rolexes would save them. While they are excellent watches, it didn't work. As for collectors, they tend not to value Rolex look-a-likes as they prefer getting the real thing. Enicar's tool watches, however, are exceptional, distinctive, and distinct, and are valued by collectors.

What are your thoughts on on the collectibility, value and authenticity of this OP? It seems like a watch from later in the company’s production run. I am aware it’s not nearly as collectible as the Sherpas but I’m looking for an overall opinion? The dial looks nice and I like the faceted crystal. The bracelet looks good too. I’m thinking $375-$425 max.(retail). What do you all advise?

I am sorry for hijacking your posting. I agree with the other poster. I love Enicar and always Ho outside the “popular” pieces, if I like them. Their Day-Date just doesn’t do it for me. It looks like an attempt to jump in on an iconic Rolex piece. They are most successful when they do them and not other brands. Even the highly collectibles (Sherpas, etc) share features with other sport watches but retain a clear “Enicar” style and vision! Just my opinion.
We seek out the watches/cars/etc from our youth. Things new we couldn't afford then but can now. What a watch is worth changes as the collecting population ages. To me your Day/Date does not resonate. But, I'm older and only a decade or so, assuming I even get there, from when I'll start "thinning-the-herd." There will be lots of Enicar tools watches available then as my age group ages out, or, more likely, in our estate sales.
Is it collectable? Well, at least one person thinks so, probably there are more of you. So, maybe? As an investment? Generally speaking, with very rare exceptions, you are always far better off pursuing a conservative investment strategy than buying anything collectable. If I may reword a long hashed saying, "It's easy to make a small fortune collecting watches. You just start with a large fortune."
