  • I'd love to make an offer of $850 AUS, without seeing the movement and accounting for the missing beads of rice band and red inner city bezel. I have a perfect ebay feedback score with hundreds of transactions. Can send payment via payal.

Hi Andy, I tried getting the case back off yesterday with the rubber ball...no luck..I'm now thinking that the metal tool I'm getting probably won't have a shape that matches the scalloped edge caseback..I have seen a few youtube videos of people glueing big nuts on the caseback then using a wrench..what are your thoughts?

I opened the case back of my previous Sherpa Guide with the standard metal tool you ordered. Keep firm even pressure on it, and if really in doubt, use a thin piece of fabric like a tshirt to protect the metal from serious scratching. Assuming there isn't wild corrosion in there, my bet is that the casback tool will open it up pretty easily. As long as there are 3 or 4 pins, and use the square ones, you will be fine.

Hey @MarcusN - what's the latest? Ultimately, if you cannot safely or confidently open the case back, I would buy it as-is for the stated offer above. Since it's running I'm confident in making that offer, plus shipping. Let me know!
