Winding Question for Super DIVE

Hello everyone, just recently, I was lucky enough to purchase my first Enicar, a Mk1 Super DIVE 40mm from 1966. It is absolutely fabulous. I'll get a picture up soon, maybe some of you know this watch already :).

I had a quick question, the 4 crown is not locking, and winds the watch in normal position. Are there any special concerns regarding winding? What is best practice? I find myself wearing the watch most, but not all, days, so I do want to keep it moving when not in use, and I sometimes find myself giving the crown a couple turns just because. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much, and nice to meet you all.

Cheers, Mike (currently living in The Woodlands, TX).

If I understand your question correctly you are saying that when the crown is pushed all the way in you can still wind the watch?

If so that is totally normal.

If you want it to keep running without wearing it then you will have to buy a automatic winding machine for it to live in. Failing that hire an unemployed midget to keep giving it a shake every now and again.

My Super-Dive (and Sherpa Jet) winds up very efficiently on the wrist,. I generally only wind a couple turns and then wear it. or the day. That is sufficient to keep it running over night and usually even a second day without wearing it.

Your mileage may vary but these Enicar auto movements wind well automatically (assuming it's in good service and oiled) without much need for manual winding. My view is the less manual winding the better as many auto movements are not designed for excessive manual winding,
