The Super (rare) Graph

Now that variation is very interesting indeed, gives another dimension to the mystery surrounding the Super Graph, nice blog, would be great to find out exactly what this variation was produced or adaped for.
Putting the dial under higher magnification shows the tripple lines and additional lume dots on the sub counter are not as crisply printed and overlap the subdial onto the main dial along with the difference in colour of the lume it's almost if done by hand, could these have been added to the dial after the fact by special request to Enicar or by some individual to adapt the watch for a specific purpose. The bezel looks kind of right for a Graph but the colouring is a mystery ,I suppose we would need to find another one identical to get some conformation that Enicar perhaps produced it.

In 2018 I found this Watch at a Watch fair. Obviously a Frankenwatch, I was puzzled by the bezel back than, which had the same styling and font as our beloved Enicar ones. The case was Enicar too. Till Yves Watch, I wasn’t sure what I have seen there...and today I regret no buying it for parts :D

I have a sneaking suspicion I have seen a bezel similar to that on another manufactures watch I shall do a bit of digging to see if I can find it again. (y)

Very interesting post Nico (y)
Here is a picture of my super graph, bezel faded to oblivion (but still barely recognizable). I was told it belonged to a canadian professional swimmer. Happy to send you the serial for your records if helpful.

Hey Carlo, yes please :D I assume its something between 625.xxx and 635.xxx! On your watch you can see the biggest Problem of the Super Graph. The bezel is totally faded. Should have something to do with the anodizing process of these shiny grey bezels.

Very interesting, Nico. Does the red in the bezel correlate to a particular shooting activity?

Thanks for the write up Nico. When was the last time you saw one available? Wondering if some folks have them but don't know what they truly have. Maybe even stashed away in a drawer somewhere. Oh the possibilities. o_O

The one in the pics was available last month, but not in public. It went from collector to collector. Before that, there were several Super Graphs available, but in different conditon states and prices. Mine I bought in December 2018.
And yes I think there are some more out there. Enicar is a not so well known brand yet, so a lot of people don't know what they have in their drawer or allready trashed them. At Omega Forums they made the hypthesis, that around 20% of the production of vintage watches survived. If we project that number on my guess of 500 Super Graphs in total, there could be 100 watches left. The problem with the SG is the very sensitive bezel, that fastly lost its paint. So maybe more watches are trashed, cause they looked ugly :D

Interesting question. I am just in contact with the son of one of the Olympic shooters. His mother can't remember a red-black bezel at all on her husbands watch. She said it was chrome (so shiny). Also the Olympic ones had the 5 Olympic Rings at the back and the year 1964 engraved. Maybe we have find another sport that watch matches too :D

Very interesting. Could the red-and-black design be completely arbitrary? An artistic design flourish?

Nope, see above, I have seen at least a second one. Also it would be hard to fake or paint this special Enicar Font :D

Thanks for the article. Don't know why but I had previously missed that the Super G used a count-down bezel. Useful feature for sports as the time remaining is more important than time spent.
