The winning bidder obviously wanted it quite badly. He/She bid two more times after placing the last high-bid. However, it takes two to make a bidding war and there just wasn't a second willing partner.

It's rare, yes, but it's also not well-known as it wasn't associated with anyone famous. Too obscure a watch?

I feel there is also a new bidding pattern with ebay. I witnessed the same with a watch I sold recently. The offers go high quickly, but to old school "sniper" at the end does not exist any more.

Yes obscure watch, but good deal for the buyer. If he imports it to Europe i would talke it for this price :D

$8200

My take on it is this...

On one side it’s a lot less than most of us thought so a total steal for the winner.

However, given the market at this time of year anyway just after Christmas, a worldwide pandemic with many people prioritising funds due to less work or lack of work etc (watches are luxuries at the end of the day). Not to mention the seller only opening this to the US market for shipping...

Then $8200 isn’t that bad at all!!

True, US-only was a big mistake. I hadn't noticed that. Seems to be that most Enicarists are in Europe.
