Have your watchmaker check and see if the 24 gear is there. Another very difficult part to find.
I think you are right. On closer inspection with a loupe, it looks like the 24H wheel (part 251) is missing. Quite upset as this was not mentioned by the seller (who is a long time Enicar collector, so would know) and, like the GMT hand is a part that seems impossible to source!
Why would the 24H wheel be missing. Is this a common issue with this model?

Many of the Enicar watches were bought to be used. They flew, dived, climbed, etc. Perhaps they weren't serviced as often as they should. Perhaps moisture got in. Perhaps the last time it was serviced, the gear was toast and it was put back together without it. It's been 60 years for some of theses watches. Lots can happen in that sort of time frame.

All that to say, while the 24 hr gear is not particularly a problem, who knows the history of this particular watch?

Who can say your seller knew either? You assumed it was there, perhaps they did as well?

The 24hr gear has been found by other listers. Ask around. Talk to Enicar specialists. You might be able to get one made up though that won't be an inexpensive option.

ask Nicolas from Cenic watches. he might have one left.

But before you ask, check if this is even the correct movement inside the case ;)

Thank you, Jim. Much appreciated. Yes, I’d better get my watchmaker check what else is missing from the movement before I look for parts.

A big thank you to Dave Scobling whom I originally bought the watch from and who managed to find & send me a 24 hour wheel and a canon pinion (the one on the watch i discovered had a missing tooth). As these parts are now unobtainable, this came as much relief and was much appreciated. In our exchanges, he has been very helpful and the perfect gentleman👍
