Following a discussion on Instagram, we thought it would be a good idea to set up this post for owners of these rare beasts to make themselves known (if they would like to). If you would prefer to remain anonymous, please send me a PM and I will post any details up you are willing to provide.

Looking forward to seeing them!

Thanks Hurmen, thats why I was confused.

Regarding the question on how many MKI's were produced or out there. In my list I have 14 confirmed watches with serial, and know of around another 6 watches where I cant see the serial based on my picture material. Depending on the serial numbers and their spread, we can assume that 500 watches where produced in the 1960 batch.
The ratio of Gladius to paddle hands seems to be 50:50.

Serial Range is the following:

By the way, the first known MK1a has paddle hands, not gladius. But that of course can change if another watch surfaces.

I had a post up relative to later Mark Is when I realized that this thread is reserved for the earliest or first series only. ;)

Seems there is no way to delete a post, though one can edit and correct one's errors.

Lars, please add the Serial, otherwise it’s just a showing Thread (which isn’t the purpose).

That is a beauty!

Edit: I inquired about the price and it is a bit steep as one may imagine.

It may sell at the asking price as it takes just one person to buy it.

I am interested, but probably not interested enough. :)

What do we know about the color of the dial of the Mark I at Bulang?

Was it once gray? Was it black at one time and tropicalized to brown?

Did it start life as a brown dial watch?

It is beautiful no matter the explanation of how it got that way.
