Please help me identify this Enicar watch

Hello everyone, I would be thankful if you could help me identify this watch , tell me if it is authentic and/or help me get an idea of its value. It belonged to my grandfather and I got it after he passed. It is an Enicar watch with the inscription “ultrasonic” and “supertest” on the front. On the back it says it is stainless steel, antimagnetic and has the code 1000/24PS. I really have no intention of selling it, as it has a high sentimental value, however, it would be nice to know more about it. I have looked online but I haven’t found any clear information as the company doesn’t exist anymore. Do you think it can be properly serviced? Thanks in advance everyone. Cheers.

PS. The strap is new, the watch itself is old.

The Supertest watches have very fine movements. You should be able to get it serviced and running well by a reputable watch maker.

It looks like yours is possibly gold-plated. No other special attributes such as waterproof or a compressor case. I would guess that it might be worth a few hundred after it is serviced. Given the cost of servicing you would probably break even.

Of course it’s strong sentimental attachment makes the work well worth doing. Enjoy.

Thank you very much for the answer! Do you have any idea on when it might have been produced? Do you reckon it is authentic?
Regards.

My guess would be late 50s to early 60s but I’m not an expert in these things. Watch looks authentic to me.

That crown looks like it's a bit wonky. Crown stem probably needs replacing.

I would be mindful of not fiddling with that too much, pulling it out and adjusting the time, winding it up etc -- too much and you may cause additional damage.

Best to get it serviced at your earliest convenience. I have a very similiar dress ultrasonic from the same era with the same movement family. It should be straight forward to service and will run quite tidily within a range of 5~20 seconds accuracy per day.

That type of slim, gold/gold plated, 3-hand dateless dress ultrasonic from Enicar was knocked out in the tens of thousands from late 50's thru to late 60's. Yours has a higher grade movement so is well worth getting it attended to (imho) given it's sentimental value. You may well find that wearing your grandfather's watch when it is running nice and in good order is a most satisfying feeling.
