My first Enicar- so excited to join the club!

I'll be quite honest, I have no idea what model I bought. I was just excited to get my first vintage time piece that's not a seiko. Here are some shots, I believe it's a 1960/61 according to Enicar101 and the serial number. Other than that, I'm thinking that the crown has been replaced with something unnatural. Instead of the Saturn logo, there is what appears to be an hourglass. See the photo, I'd like to get an accurate one if it is a replacement.
Anyway- just wanted to drop in and say hello, and look forward to chatting with you all in the future. I'll be servicing this watch soon, just want to formally ID it first and see if there are problems that need correcting at the time. Glad to find this forum!

I've got a bunch of gold ones if you wanted to change it at some point. I think that's a Favre Leuba crown. Anyways - congrats and welcome to the club. That's a good solid dress watch and I'm sure you'll enjoy it :D

The Ultrasonic on the dial refers to the cleaning the process of the parts etc before assembly. Not impressive now but it was ground-breaking at the time and improved both the accuracy and time required between services.

I've been an amateur watch smith for a few years now, and lacking the funds to get one of the proper L&R cleaners, I rely upon a sweeping ultrasonic cleaner myself, so this is perfect. 😊. I might reach out about the crown, I've got to go through and see if everything else looks correct on the watch as well. Good call on the Favre Leuba crown, looks like you're correct. Once I get it off the stem I'll be able to see what size crown I'd need. Thanks for the info!

edit: actually it looks rather like the EDOX- good call.

Welcome and such a sweat watch! (y)

Im just wondering about that back lid engravings that says "BACESP"!
Everything suits up except that "E" that, according to the table in Martijns book, suggests that this watch should have an Electromechanical movement??

References on case back from the best ENICAR web site in the world, Martijns ENICAR -- Time for a change

Well, as I said, it's my first "dive" into this brand- I kinda jumped feet first. Judging by the wrong crown, I would not be surprised to find that the caseback is incorrect as well. That's why I was hoping for some more knowledgable folks to take a look and tell me what model it looks like. I assume it's a seapearl, but I wasn't sure where to find a reference number or similar to track down parts and info on the watch. I'll check out your link about the caseback- it certainly doesn't look like an electromechanical movement... and it was a "bay" purchase, so the seller provided very little info.

I'm also looking at the movement and it appears to say "AR 1035 or 1055", neither of which I am seeing listed as a movement caliber. Interestingly, it looks like the 10XX series appear to be manual, while mine is clearly an automagic. I'm wondering now if the movement itself hasn't been hacked together- I'll be very interested to get into it and see what's going on there.

But BACESP also includes the A for Automatic. And the caseback also has says "AUTOMATIC"

The Sherpa Electric has reference 100/167 BEPNS. Where E = Electromechanical.

So maybe the E in BACESP seen here means something else?

P means plated and the Electric came in two versiosn and mine is an all steel version and therefore has BEaNS as reference! :p
