Looking for advice...

Hello all,

These are the only two images I have at the moment of an Ultrasonic Nivaflex and a Jet Graph. They are both rather battered examples but I'm thinking that one of them might be the start of a small Enicar collection.

My questions are; which one would you suggest if any and what might be a reasonable price to pay for them allowing for their condition?

Thank you all in advance.

Of course the right one, but that wont be cheap. I knew a few collectors that are also bidding at this auction. I assume at least 4000€ in the end. Good Luck!

Personally I wouldn't buy both of them. Too much damage (the Jet Graph, very hard to scource spare parts) considering the steep price point, the left one I don't think it is really very interesting, better look out for better examples. There is a very nice Divette for sale in the sales corner, that would be my choice I think.

I was looking at bidding on the Jet Graph myself. My first thought was that, if it went for a low enough price, perhaps it can become a "project watch" as I hunt for parts.

A crystal shouldn't be hard to obtain?
Perhaps one day I will find a replacement bezel without holes punched in the 1 o'clock position?
Maybe the hands aren't all that rusty?
Perhaps one of our friends here has a set of central hands for sale and after all, one can repaint the red central seconds?
Maybe the case is not as beat-up as it looks in the photos?

The dial may be OK.
What do we know about the movement?

I talked myself right out of it! :)

The serial number is not yet accounted for on Nico's site, but he does not update very often. :)

My thoughts? This is a wonderful honest Jet Graph MK II. Sure, you can change the bezel and red ring, but compared to a lot of others this one has a pretty dial and the hands are also not that bad.
There recently was a German selling bezels,..also Jet Graph one without the two lume holes. So they are still out there :)

In the end, all depends on the price. I made the experience, that these auction ones that you can find on every auction page, wont be cheap. Tried it a few times :D For 4K, this is a wonderful watch. For 6K not so much anymore :D

Well, I have my eye on it ;) The problem is, this serial falls directly in Aqua Graph territory. Whereas most of the watches falls in a specific range, this one doesnt. One of the riddles we have still to solve. My MK II for example is just 4 numbers away from 907.122, but there is an Aqua Graph just 2 numbers earlier.

I wouldn't want to buy it and then learn later that it is a put-together watch with an Aqua Graph case back ;)

I have been there once already with my first Graph. :)

I went to bed last evening after considering making an offer. I did not plan on rising early to participate in the auction. I would have bid a bit below the hammer price so whether I bid or not would have been moot.

Now that I have a small number of vintage watches that I like and enjoy, along with a few that I have come to realize will not get much wrist time, I've become very picky. ;) I'll be waiting for just the right one for the next one.

I may not know how to read the results as I see the hammer price as £ 3000 plus the premium which is close to 35% including 20% VAT. I contacted the auction house and learned that, once the watch is exported, one can obtain the 20% VAT back, but one must pay up front at collection.

I hope the person who bought the watch enjoys it as it's not a bad value all things considered. The process of having it serviced and hunting for, and eventually acquiring a new bezel, can be part of the pleasure of owning the watch.
