Is this Sherpa guide bezel correct?

Hi, can anyone help me to determine whether or not this city bezel correct for this mk1 Sherpa guide?
ive not seen one like this on similar models.

Probably ‘borrowed’ from another watch.

Yes, I don't think it's correct. I've never seen that bezel on a Guide before.

To the experts, are the cities bezels largely the same? Did the later ones get more colourful?

No, they differ. Not sure about the color (cause this could fade), but the cities on the bezel are different too. Unfortunately I just found this old low res pic of me, but I guess you can see the point. Left is a MK1 Guide bezel, right a later one. Chances you will find a MK1 bezel is zero, the right one you could find from time to time.

Interesting. I have an NOS later bezel but I just noticed all my Guides use the earlier type. It seems to have been used up to at least the Mk2s. Looking at the Springbar section on pilot watches, it seems the cities ring changed with the Mk3s. There are a few outliers but, given the condition, they look to be replacement rings.

Thanks Nico. I think you’re right on the chances of getting a mk1 but I may have found one of the later one’s like the one to the right in your photo.

Please allow me to make a suggestion that will surely freeze the hearts of our more puritan members. You have a decent later bezel on its way. Why not buy a Mk2 Guide with the correct, early bezel and swap bezels so your Mk1 ends up with the correct bezel. Then sell the Mk2 and recoup your expenses.
