Newby here everyone, hello all. I bought an Enicar off ebay. Keeps great time. I had the back off, its a cal 982 manual wind with sub seconds. The number on the back is 982-34-01 and inside the caseback is 2334. Anyone help with the model and year of manufacture? Many thanks

Hey there. Enicar used the AR 982 movement as early as the 1950s, but the Ref. 982-34-01 was definitely produced in 1960s. It's difficult to pinpoint the exact year, however. (Re: logos ... In the early 1970s, Enicar switched their logo appearance to an applied gold saturn; in the 1950s, the word Enicar was placed over the planet. The logo on your watch -- with Enicar below the Saturn -- is squarely 1960s).

A good rundown of the 982 movement can be found here: http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&0&2uswk&Enicar_1012

Thanks for that, I was guessing 70s but 60s for some strange reason, makes me feel even bit better

To be sure, there was not a hard break from one to another, and there was overlap with models, so it *might* be early 70s, but gut says squarely 60s.
