I’ve been bit by the Enicar bug! Don’t know what I have but it’s weird!

Is this the weirdest watch you have ever seen?

Hello Enicar Enthusiasts:
I have been bit by the Enicar bug! I don’t know what I have, but after looking at craft and tailored’s site as well as HODINKEE’s it’s clear that watch connoisseurs are discovering the bones of a giant. That being said, I was on EBay and a watch came up! I’ll admit all the Enicar brands are not my cup of tea! But this particular model stood out! Because it just looked so F-ing weird! And I mean weird! Sooo of course I had to buy it. Now I want to know is their any history? Why haven’t I seen a model like this before and why is it sooo different? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m really no expert here but maybe you haven’t seen this type of watch before since it’s not a real Enicar? 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️

It looks a bit odd but someone else might chip in with facts?

I've got to say that it all looks a bit wonky which doesn't sit with the original Enicar's normally high standards. It's a bit too odd to be a fake I think. The caseback would help and a movement shot. Could be one of those random ladies watches that we don't see often?

That’s why I’m on the forum 🤨! When you talk about “Real Enicar” watches I don’t think 💭 someone would fake a watch this odd? For what reason? Who would take the time to create a fake Enicar watch, they were a working man’s alternative to Fine Swiss Watchmaking! We need more facts.

Now that I think about it! It could be a ladies watch. I see the daintiness of the hour and minute hands. But the large face being primarily blacked out that’s not very feminine! Is there anyway to know?

The case size is normally the first obvious sign (y)
Thanks for your comments you’ve made the most sense out of the members whom responded. I really want to get into Enicar’s they have such a fabulous history. As I said before every Enicar model is not my cup of tea. Some are just flat out odd. The Sherpa models are the real collectible. I heard that a Russian scientist Korolev purchased an Enicar. Perhaps this was a one off attempt at capitalizing on a “space trend”. As it does look like a moon. Either way, I’m finished with my Enicar scholarship. Thanks for the help!

Did you buy it on eBay from a seller in India?

If so, is almost certainly not genuine but a frankenenicar made from the odd parts barrel including a cheap fake dial intended to appeal to the sub-continents uniquely particular penchant for garish 'bling'.

Looks very similar to many of the myriad of frankenseiko's out of India - except the Seiko logo has been swapped out for Enicar logo. That low-cost stiff padded croc-print strap completes the fake package.

Sorry but I agree it's not an original watch. I also agree that why they would do it is very puzzling. Why not spend all that time, energy and talent on creating spare parts? Excellent quality crowns, hands, bezels, etc, would sell like hotcakes.
