Hello Enicar Owners,

Haven't been all that focused on my Enicars due to business and therefore not posting here or on Watchuseek, let along the monster thread there.

Many of you are facing the dreaded spare parts issue. While searching for something else, I happened upon a solution.3D printing can make parts with enough resolution to use in our watches. Quite astounding progress in a few years.

I sent an inquiring just to confirm they can do gears, canon pinions, hour wheels, and they replied they already do production work for the industry.

There are a few parts I am interested in that are currently unobtainium. Mostly for 1126, 1146, and 166 calibers. Also, there are supercompressor parts in need of replacement including the upper crown star wheel. I'd also like a movement ring for the 166.

So, what parts are you finding scarce? Perhaps develop a group buy>

Company is in Germany:

Anyway, I welcome your thoughts.

Cheers,

Hunter

Hi hunter,

Welcome to the boards (y)

I have thought about this before and always wondered whether 3d printed parts would be up to the job in a watch. Especially in regards to parts that are under any form stress or pressure within the movement. A shattered watch part would likely destroy a lot more than itself I would imagine.

It would be very interesting to see how they would hold up though. I do wonder if there's been any Kickstarters or anything with 100% 3d printed watch parts?
