Enicar's influence on (later) Glycine

Glycine is now owned by Invicta, as everyone knows. But they made the historically important -- and still very cool -- Airman. An innovative and groundbreaking watch for pilots and military servicemen and women. The Airman was so iconic it defined the very brand identity of Glycine for decades.

I stumbled across this listing on eBay (I'm not considering buying), but doesn't this look like an homage to frankened Enicar guides? :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:

Some of the Glycine movements were made by Enicar, and included 1146 used in Guides.

The watch you show uses a quartz movement. They still make the Airman and it looks pretty much as it did originally. You need to be careful when buying one though as they also offer 12 hour movements with the 24 hour dial. You get the cool 24 hr look with something easier to read at a glance. However, it would be disappointing if you actually thought you were getting a 24 hr watch.

I own several vintage Glycines (one with a Felsa movement, one with an A. Schild). I even picked up their reissue of the 1953 AM/PM (from circa 2014, since sold). 24-hour movts definitely take a learning curve, but are very cool.

Do you know which Glycines used the AR 1146?

Separately, I've long wondered why Enicar never used the 24-hour format (like some many did after Glycine; Zodiac, etc.) Maybe they did and I've overlooked it.

Found a vintage Glycine Airman auction which listed and showed an Enicar 1146 movement. Of course, I can't find it right now. Will keep looking.

The Glycine Combat 645A might have the AR 1145 in it. Conjecture on my part, but it looks very similar.
