I feel it could be usefull with a thread for parts. I think getting spare parts is tricky to say the least, and I think this is an area where the expertise in this forum could be very helpfull. E.g. Is it possible to get some parts (NOS, used or replacement) for the in-house movements.

Hm, i would really like to start with a “wanted to buy” or “looking for parts”. What I personally won’t do, is to publish a list of parts I have. I am not a dealer and this is not a shop (and it would be to much work 😁)

So basically we have the above already in the "Want to Buy" section - unless we want to differentiate between parts and complete watches.

So when are you going to sell me a lollipop seconds for my Mark III? :)

it is not just buy and sell, it is also about sharing information, e.g. if there are other sources someone knows about. I am thinking of servicing my Sherpa Guide (AR146), but the watchmaker I know, although good at his craft, seems uncomfortable with the fact he don't know about where to get part if needed. I don't know what could be needed, but I think quit often you like to replace at least the spring. Is there any spring available from other movement that could fit the AR146?

Hey Anthony, nice to see you here ;) Just post a "Want to buy" thread, but again, keep your eyes open, they will pop up on ebay from time to time!

Currently there are a couple of Enicar hand sets available on Ebay from seller bestswisswatchparts from Lausanne.

No lollipop seconds for me though . . .

Best bet is to simply search "Enicar hands."

The seller indicates in the write-up that one should inquire whether he has other items. However; he has disabled messaging! ;)

Joe, if you want to contact bestswisswatchparts search for quintuswatchspare on Instagram.
You can find his e-mail and his Whatsapp numbers over there.

A little tip when searching ebay for parts. Many of you have probably been doing this for ages,
so at the risk of being re named Capt. Obvious , it might help someone else as I only discovered this last month.
When you tick the box ' show items worldwide ' you might foolishly imagine that ebay will display items being
sold worldwide ?
NO !
Ebay will only show items where sellers have ticked the box 'sell worldwide' . Some vendors may need persuading.
I've been searching for an original 60 year old Autovox valve radio for my old Lancia.
Searching worldwide, all I could find was radio's with knobs missing and chrome scratched beyond repair.
Others had been converted to Bluetooth and priced at £ 500.00 +.
I clicked on ebay Italy (It's an Italian made radio and car ) and found a very nice untested exact model for 58 euro's.
When I clicked 'buy it now' a message popped up in Italian telling me to sling my hook because the seller
does not sell outside Italy. I then tried 'contact seller'. Again ebay Italy said 'go way'.
I then logged on to ebay UK and 'contact seller'. Bingo, contact was made.
I explained to the seller that I wanted his radio because it's the precise model and year for my Italian car.
Would he please make an exception to his Italy only policy ?
Within an hour he came back and agreed but apologized for needing 30 euro's post due to it's very considerable weight.
It was 20 euro's within Italy, so his request was perfectly reasonable. I would never have seen the radio if I had just ticked
'search worldwide'.
So when searching for parts, why not bookmark ebay France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and any other likely country
and don't be put off when sellers appear not to want to export.

I'd take it a step further, Richard. It's a good suggestion even when looking for watches. I have found that some sellers list locally, but as you say, may not be savvy or else can be persuaded to ship overseas.

I basically check the following sites:

ebay.co.uk, ebay.de, ebay.fr, ebay.it and sometimes ebay.ca and ebay.ie.

For Switzerland, when I remember, I search within the popular www.ricardo.ch.

I learned this when looking for gauge 1 live stream models as well as books!

Sometimes Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk do not carry a book that one can find on Amazon.de or Amazon.fr, for example, especially when out of print. Also, some Amazon locations offer better prices than others

Now that these secrets are out, there goes our competitive advantage!

Herman, I do have an Instagram account, but quintuswatchspare seems to only list his telephone number - assuming I am interpreting what I see correctly.

2nd Edit: When searching the "foreign" sites, be sure to translate a description of what you are looking for into the local language. Even Ebay.com and Ebay.co.uk don't always use the same descriptive words. :giggle:
