Enicar 140/027?

Hello dear Enicar forum,

i received this watch as part of an inheritance and would like to preserve it and give it some love if it is a genuine watch. It is very worn and i could not find it online under the keyword ‘star jewels’ or the model number ‘140/027’. Google lens did not help either. I could not find an identical watch - maybe you can help me with the identification/authentication? Is the watch original? Is the band original?

Thank you very much!
Felix

Hello Felix, I found these pictures in my files. I can no longer remember where I "borrowed" these photos from.

Enicar made a lot of similar watches marked "Star Jewels". This dial is a little unusual but I'm sure it is genuine. The strap is of the same period, and is worn similarly to the watch, so is probably original. Given its condition, its value is primarily sentimental. It is a good watch, well made, and worthwhile servicing and using.
