Beads of Rice Bracelet

whilst waiting for my Sherpa Jet to come back from service, I have been keeping an eye out for a beads of rice bracelet on eBay, but as they are not in abundant supply, that got me thinking about aftermarket bracelets - has anyone here had success with a 19mm aftermarket bracelet which successfully fitted their watch?

19mm is tough to find in the aftermarket where "evens" seem to rule (22mm, 20mm and 18mm). However, inexpensive Enicar watches come up with beads of rice bracelets and you can buy the whole watch cheaper than a loose bracelet. I got my BOR for my Jet 33 that way.

I’m also interested but for a 20 mm Graph.... !
Exactly what should we look after regarding appearance on an original Enicar BOR?

AFAIK, all the Swiss made BORs came from Gay Freres. That means you can find an off brand bracelet and fit a Enicar clasp and you're good. Since they were supplied to almost everyone from Patek on down, prices vary quite a bit! I've seen $50 to $15K.

Thanks for this, I am wondering if the 20mm I see listed are actually 19 but the seller has assumed an even size and rounded up? Also how bad the fit of a slightly modified 20mm end link would be on 19mm lug width?

unfortunately this is not true. Just GF marked bracelets are from Gay Freres, like the BOR ones you find on Heuer. Those have a great quality though, especially compared to the Enicar BORs.
I still don’t know who the manufacturer of these was, but the quality is inferior to the GF ones and just comparable to less expensive aftermarket bracelet of that time.

Hallo Enicar collectors, Because I have an 65 certina ds with a GF bracelet ( perfect high quality), I looked for an example for Enicar watch. All the GF bracelets are marked with a deer head and the only example I found at internet was a golden Enicar watch with a solid yellow bracelet (already sold and extremely rare). Because of the perfect fit, I considered to buy a enicar buckle for the certina bracelet. But after reading the story about the mount everest expedition from 1960 with a certina ds with the GF bracelet I decided to let history win. Talking about history,in the 80th Rolex bought Gay Freres to eliminate the competition.
