That's a good pic of Moss and his Graph.
I would imagine that the UK Enicar distributor handed out
Sherpa Graphs to Jim Clark, Sterling Moss and Innes Ireland.
I considered buying a homage watch 5 years ago but was reluctant to pay £400 for a watch that I would still take care of and be equally
upset if I ruined it as much as if it a was £ 4000 watch.
For messing about with classic cars, gardening and other messy tasks I decided to go quartz and go...
Not sure that I like the way that the Super Jet clone is advertised. Initially I assumed it had a mechanical
movement and good value. Then realised Ronda 515 - 24H is a one Jewel battery movement !
However, the compressor clone does use a Japanese Miyota 8215 automatic movement for an extra 50...
Hi Sridharan ;
Your watch has the Saturn logo over ' Enicar ' so dates your watch after 1961 ish.
Before that date Enicar was usually signed through the Saturn logo like this.
From memory, Enicar introduced 'Star Jewels' in approximately 1964 until 1970.
I would guess your watch is around 1965.
Hi ;
Your watch is not sought after by many Enicar collectors but could wear nicely
with a 40's style black leather strap.
In it's current non working condition it might be worth £ 10-20 . If it kept good time
possibly £ 80 - 120 ish.
Best take it to a watchmaker and get a quote for a service...
Hi Zizi ; I had a Fapla about 5 years ago. These were military watches made by Enicar
for The people's armed forces for the liberation of Angola.
The initials spell out Fapla in Portuguese.
I only kept it for a couple of days because it gained 40 seconds every hour.
Something must have...
`I don't really have a most wanted dream watch because I already have the three watches that I ever craved.
I started collecting vintage watches 8 years ago and my first 'must have' watch was a Gallet MC12 with Excelsior Park movement.
Apart from the Jim Clark connection I really appreciated...
Difficult to say really with a 'tank' type case it could be either a men's or maybe a women's watch.
I would date it approx. early to mid 1960's when Enicar often named watches Star Jewels .
From memory 1962 would have been the earliest Star Jewels watch.
I can't tell you if the watch has lost...
Has anyone seen a black dial Sherpa Graph with a slightly blueish grey teledial before ?

Hi ;
I don't see anything untoward with either, but the first one is more important than the second.
I have owned a couple of these 1957/ 58 EPSA compressor cased watches.
Some are inscribed Seapearl on the dial and others on the case back. The back shows the 4 leaf clover
design indicating...
I've been very lucky buying vintage watches for the past 7 years, as most of them
have been tremendous investments as well as a pleasure to own.
Last year I took a punt on a couple of late 60's early 70's Omega Dynamics.
I can't understand why they are so under valued so someone needs to sit me...
Joe . Shame about the height because it's an attractive looking watch.
I had a similar problem with a huge 1947 Longines Czech pilots watch
which was approx 42mm without crown but wore like a 46mm watch.
I kept banging the tall crystal on doors so I sold it.
Nico. Thanks for the info. Even...
That's an impressive bit of kit Willie !
Beautifully restored and the brushed satin finish on the stainless steel case would have been just as
difficult to restore as the dial.
Very nice indeed !
I can't remember who, but someone on here remarked that it would help them making buying decisions if they could see the difference
between a 36 mm and a 40mm Enicar Super Compressor.
Problem is that many factors are in involved in how a watch 'wear's on the wrist .
Wrist size, Lug size, case...
Thanks for that very detailed and informative answer Joe !
The white dial on your 2 register Gallet almost looks like porcelain and good enough to eat.
They say that a watch often reflects the personality of it's owner.
Jim Clark was a boyhood hero of mine. Not only was he arguably the...
A couple of absolute belters Joe !
Why is the top watch known as 'evil snow white' when it's black ?
Also, does it pre date the Jim Clark MC12 ?
