Hugger69, have you had the back off your GMT? Curious if it has a rubyrotor movement. I have seen one other marked as yours but with the rubyrotor movement. I have also seen these with 33 jewel movements. The variations found even in short run Enicars are simply astounding.

Yes I have my friend! 👍🏻
It has the 30 Jewels Supertest AR1126 movement with serial number 046764.
It has Supertest engraved on the rotor but I really don’t know about Rubyrotor...?

FunkyMonday today with this NOS and maybe not so common Sherpa 330!

It’s a ladies model of the Sherpa 320 and it’s a bit different in sizes...

Hugger69: That's what I figured. I think they are all 30 jewel movements (later 33) but some are marked and some aren't. Don't know the colour of the bezel. It doesn't really matter as I don't know the colour of the original bezel.

What was the Rubyrotor then?

True that regarding your bezel, but as I understand it the red/silver ones are quite rare....?!

Any version of the GMT is rare, very rare compared to the numbers of Guides, Supers and even Graphs out there. This doesn't make them more valuable, of course, just harder to find. I have seen so few in my years of looking (for one I could reasonably not-quite-afford) that I can't say if the red dial is that much harder to find. I can think of a couple of each have been for sale over the last year.

I wanted one to complete the holy trinity of the Time, World Time and GMT -- an entirely imagined connection on my part, I must add. I suppose the true grouping to aspire to would also include a Stewardess* and a Steward, maybe a Mk1 Guide, too.

The 30 jewel movements were commonly, but not always, referred to as "Rubyrotor". I assume the winding rotor is pivoting on a jewel. Enicar had a habit of making a Big Deal out of common practice. The higher jewelled Enicar movements are really something special. My watchmaker, who does lots of Rolexes, was quite stunned by the quality of my 33 jewel Guide.

*Strangely, I have an NOS count-down bezel for a Stewardess if anyone is looking. I have not seen a single photo of a real Stewardess, just mentions in period ads.

Great info there @jbcollier and interesting reading! 🤗

I didn’t have any Supertest movement in my collection so I thought it was to find this watch which combines so many cool features!
Can you compare this Supertest movement with the real Supertest watches regarding how accurate they where?

I also think that Rubyrotor is as simple as it sounds, the rotor has its bearing in a ruby!
